The Money Maker

The Money Maker tells the story of Jan Bojarski, a young Polish refugee in post-war France, who leads a double life as a skilled counterfeiter. Unbeknownst to his family, he creates near-perfect forgeries in a garden shed. His exceptional counterfeits evade detection by the police for over 15 years.

Notable for its cat-and-mouse game between Bojarski and Commissaire Mattei, The Money Maker explores the intense duel between these two obsessives, with Bojarski becoming the elusive target of the commissaire's pursuit.
